Please join AWWEE for an inside tour of SMUD's 500 Megawatt Cosumnes Power Plant (CPP), located 1/2 mile south of the Rancho Seco Nuclear Power Plant.  Learn how this natural gas plant operates, why it is integral to SMUD's reliable operations and long-range resource plan, and how SMUD worked with the local community to provide real air quality benefits.

 

DATE/TIME: Tuesday, May 7, 2013 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

 

TRAVELING SCHEDULE: The tour and traveling time will total about 4 hours (from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.). There are 2 traveling alternatives:

 

Alternative 1: Meet at SMUD by 8:00 am

--Meet in the Lobby at SMUD Headquarters Building (6201 S Street, Sacramento, CA) by 8:00 a.m.

--Arrive at CPP by 9:00 a.m.

--Tour facility (1.5 to 2 hours).

--Return to SMUD by 12:00 p.m.

 

Alternative 2: Meet at CPP by 9:00 a.m.

--Driving directions to be provided.

 

Transportation:

--SMUD will provide 2 vans which will accommodate 6 passengers each. Reserve your spot while registering.

--Others are encouraged to carpool.

--SMUD will provide parking for carpoolers and vanpoolers meeting at SMUD.

 

COST: Free for members; $35.00 for non-members
